Alton Towers Nemesis Track Removal Begins

Alton Towers
Friday 2nd December 2022

Work on removing Nemesis has begun at Alton Towers Resort. The massive job of removing the old track has begun with sections of track spotted in the old staff car park before being loaded onto a flatbed truck and then being removed from the park.

There's no official news on where the track will go from here but we expect it will be sold off for scrap metal. We doubt any sections of the track will be auctioned off to enthusiasts with enough money. At the beginning of the day, two sections of track could be seen in the old staff car park and at the end of the day another new section of track from an undisclosed part of the nemesis ride could be seen in the compound. Unlike the two sections of the track, we could see before it looks like this one had to be cut out more extremely than sections before which looked to have just been lifted out rather than cut out.

It's an exciting time in the UK theme park industry, we've not lost an amazing coaster. It's just being preserved for future years to come!
