LEGOLAND Windsor Removes Sky Rider and 4D Theatre Ahead of New Area in 2027
With the former LEGO Studios 4D cinema now almost completely removed, work has turned to finishing the demolition of the nearby Sky Rider attraction.
Sky Rider was removed ahead of the start of the 2025 season, although its station and parts of the supporting structure remained in place behind temporary boards. Those boards have now been taken down, revealing that the remaining metal structure is also being dismantled.
Construction fences surrounding the area are teasing what could come next, with signs attached to the posts reading: “You’re going to love it… in 2027.”
The former LEGO Studios 4D cinema is expected to be replaced by a new 4D theatre. However, we believe the wider area could receive more than just a replacement cinema attraction.
Since the nearby Space Tower closed in 2017, this section of LEGOLAND Windsor has gradually felt increasingly empty and in need of investment. With the former cinema and Sky Rider sites now being cleared, there could be enough space for a larger redevelopment featuring an additional ride or attraction alongside the new theatre.
A wider overhaul would also help complement Minifigure Speedway, which opened nearby in 2024, and bring new life to a part of the park that has felt underused for several years.
LEGOLAND Windsor has not yet officially announced what will open within the area in 2027, but the latest demolition work suggests that preparations for its next major development are now progressing.
