Raven Behind The Scenes

As part of the Paultons Park Super Fans Event 2026, we were invited behind the scenes of Raven, the newly reimagined coaster formerly known as Cobra.

While the ride has received a complete transformation as part of the new Valgard – Realm of the Vikings area, there are still a few reminders of its past. If you look carefully in the maintenance area, sections of the original blue track can still be spotted, and guests entering the station may notice the front of a former Cobra train mounted on the wall as a tribute to the ride's history.

This year's tour also provided a rare look inside the ride's control cabin, where guests were able to see the control panels and CCTV systems used to operate and monitor the attraction throughout the day.

We were also given a closer look at the newly themed tunnel section and upgraded head chopper effect. As riders plunge into the tunnel, a giant raven can be seen spreading its wings overhead, creating a dramatic near miss moment and adding to the ride's new Viking inspired storyline.

Getting up close to the ride's impressive new themed structures was another highlight of the tour. From the redesigned station building to the refreshed queue line, new paintwork and updated train wraps, almost every part of the attraction has been transformed.

Paultons Park has done a fantastic job giving this classic coaster a new lease of life. While Raven may still be the same ride beneath the surface, the extensive retheme makes it feel like an entirely new experience and a worthy addition to Valgard – Realm of the Vikings.
