World of Paw Patrol Nears Completion at Chessington
Sunday 26th April 2026
Our final construction update from Chessington’s World of Paw Patrol takes you through the entire journey of the project. From the moment the plans were revealed at the local residents’ expo, through to the submission of those plans, the removal of the Scorpion Express track, the delivery of ride hardware, and the testing phase, we have followed every step. You can look back and see how the development has progressed over time.
In today’s final update, all rides were seen testing, and staff were present around the area wearing the new Paw Patrol uniforms. The land is now looking almost ready to open. There still appears to be some ongoing work near the entrance to the rollercoaster, Chase’s Mountain Mission. It looks as though there will be some kind of themed scene at the base of the tower that guests will walk through.
We are particularly excited to see what the shop will look like inside, as this has been kept very secret so far. Aside from that, the main remaining task seems to be finishing the entrance portal. The foundations for the entrance signage are currently exposed, and the netting on the surrounding fences has started to be removed and is gradually coming down.
Join us on Saturday from 9am live from Chessington for the VIP launch of World of Paw Patrol, exclusively on our custom live blog platform. Head over now to vote for what you are most excited to see:

Chessington Announces Opening Date for New PAW Patrol World
Tuesday 14th April 2026
Excitement is building at Chessington World of Adventures Resort as the park has officially announced that its brand-new World of PAW Patrol land will open on 3rd May 2026, just in time for the May Bank Holiday.
The £15 million immersive development will be the UK’s first and only land themed around PAW Patrol, bringing the world of Adventure Bay to life with themed rides, interactive play zones, immersive storytelling, plus dedicated food, drink and retail experiences designed especially for young families.
Adding to the excitement, the park has already welcomed its very first “guest” to test the new land. Four-year-old superfan Hallie Sawyer was chosen from more than 2,000 applicants to become the official “PAWject Manager,” tasked with trying out rides and play areas to ensure they are truly “ruff ruff ready” for opening day.
The new land is being built on the former site of the Scorpion Express roller coaster and the park’s old children’s zoo, completely transforming the space into Adventure Bay across a 1.4-acre area.

The Rides and Attractions
World of PAW Patrol will feature a range of attractions themed around the heroic pups, giving families the chance to join their favourite rescue missions.
Chase’s Mountain Mission
There’s trouble on the mountain! Mayor Goodway and Chickaletta are stranded high above on a tightrope, and it’s up to Chase and Everest to save the day. Families will hop into Chase’s high-speed rescue vehicle on this family junior coaster, racing to complete the mission — the perfect first thrill ride for young adventurers.
Skye’s Helicopter Heroes
Time to take to the skies! Riders will climb aboard Skye’s iconic helicopter and soar into action on a high-flying rescue mission, enjoying uplifting views as they help complete another daring rescue.
Marshall’s Firetruck Rescue
Sound the alarm! A kitten needs rescuing, and Marshall is calling on little heroes for help. Guests will climb aboard the bright red firetruck as it rocks and rolls through the streets of Adventure Bay in this fun-filled family ride.
Zuma’s Hovercraft Adventure
Spring into action on the UK’s first-ever ‘Drifter’ ride. Riders will join Zuma aboard a spinning hovercraft journey from Adventure Bay to Seal Island, swirling through ocean waves as they race to deliver a brand-new light bulb to the lighthouse.
Rubble & Rocky’s Playzone
For those ready to build, climb and explore, this interactive play area is packed with hands-on fun. Little builders can scramble through Rubble’s construction zone before heading into Rocky’s Recycle Yard — a maze of repurposed parts perfect for eco-heroes who love to tinker and crawl their way to adventure.
The Flounder Boat Play
Little explorers can also set sail on a high-seas adventure, helping Captain Turbot aboard the Flounder Boat in a fun, nautical-themed play experience.
Beyond the attractions, guests can expect themed dining and retail locations inspired by Adventure Bay, offering rescue-ready refreshments and exclusive souvenirs to complete the experience.
For families looking to extend their visit, the resort is also introducing the UK’s first PAW Patrol-themed hotel rooms. These fully themed stays sleep up to two adults and three children and include perks such as early ride access and Fastrack, making them a popular option for opening season visits.
Nick Bevan, Vice President at Chessington, said:
“It’s safe to say Hallie was on the case, bringing such enthusiasm and ‘PAW-sitivity’ to her important quality assurance mission. Her entry was a brilliant reminder of how the PAW Patrol values can be lived every day through care, teamwork, and doing the right thing. It has been great to witness the smiles the World of PAW Patrol has brought to our first visitor, and we can’t wait for families from across the world to experience the magic of PAW Patrol here at Chessington World of Adventures from 3rd May.”
With attractions themed to each member of the PAW Patrol team and a full day’s worth of immersive experiences, World of PAW Patrol is set to become one of the biggest family additions to Chessington in years.
With the opening date now confirmed for 3rd May 2026, families won’t have long to wait before answering the call — because when Adventure Bay needs help, the PAW Patrol are ready to ride.
PAW Patrol World Rollercoaster and Rides Testing at Chessington
Friday 3rd April 2026
It won’t be long until PAW Patrol World at Chessington opens to guests, and it’s looking amazing!
With the Easter half term here, we’ve spotted two of the new attractions testing in the World of PAW Patrol land. For the first time, both Chase’s Mountain Mission and Skye’s Helicopter Heroes have been seen testing. Chase’s Mountain Mission looks fantastic, with some really cute theming on the train, especially the traffic cones on the back, while Skye’s Helicopter Heroes looks like great fun, even if it may be a bit of a squeeze for adults.
Elsewhere, Marshall’s Firetruck Rescue appears almost ready to begin staff training and testing, and Zuma’s Hovercraft Adventure also looks like it will be a lot of fun for younger guests.
The overall theming and level of polish in this area are incredible and unlike anything we’ve seen at a Merlin theme park before. Since our last update, many more themed elements have been installed, and all of the ride and area signs have now been unwrapped. The entrance signage looks brilliant, and queue time boards are now being put in place, including one visible for Chase’s Mountain Mission near the entrance.
In the centre of the land, the large tower feature is really coming together. While the main slide is purely decorative, a smaller slide nearby has been installed for children to enjoy.
This is a fantastic investment, and we can’t wait to see it open. There’s still no official opening date, but we’d expect an announcement very soon, with many predicting a launch in the first or second weekend of May 2026.
We’re really looking forward to getting inside the area once it opens and seeing all the details up close.

World of PAW Patrol Nearly Ready to Open at Chessington
Friday 20th March 2026
The World of PAW Patrol at Chessington is shaping up to be an exciting addition for the 2026 season, with the area now looking fantastic as the park reopens.
Construction fences around the land have now been removed, giving guests their first clear views of the area in weeks. Remaining fencing near Rattlesnake has been thoughtfully redesigned, featuring curved shapes and themed vinyls to better blend into the Forbidden Kingdom area—a nice and unexpected touch.
Across the land, a wide range of themed models have been installed, bringing the area to life. The flooring is also in the final stages of completion, helping to tie everything together visually.
All of the rides now appear to be fully installed. This includes the train for the rollercoaster Chase’s Mountain Mission and the iconic big red bus for Marshall’s Firetruck Rescue formerly Jungle Bus in Wild Asia, which has now been put into place.
While there has been no official confirmation, markings visible on sections of the rollercoaster track suggest that testing may already be underway.
An official opening date has yet to be announced, but the area is widely expected to open in May 2026. From what we’ve seen so far, this could be one of the best new areas Merlin has delivered in a long time.
Entrance Signage Installed at Paw Patrol World at Chessington
Saturday 7th March 2026
From areas of the theme park that are currently open to guests, we’ve been able to catch glimpses of the construction taking place on Paw Patrol World, and it’s clear that the new land is really starting to come together. While the area itself remains closed off, several key features are now visible from nearby pathways, giving visitors an exciting early look at the progress being made as work continues on this highly anticipated addition to Chessington World of Adventures Resort.
The entrance sign and archway have now been installed. They’re currently wrapped up to keep them protected while work across the area continues, but it’s still exciting to see the main gateway into the new land now in place.
With all of the rides now installed, it should only be a matter of time before testing begins across the attractions. We’ve already seen footage of Skye’s Helicopter Heroes testing, and it looks fantastic in action.
The shop within the area also appears to have received its new signage, adding another themed element and bringing the land one step closer to completion.
In the centre of the area, the large slide that wraps around the tower has now been installed. This has raised a bit of a question though — will the slide actually be open for guests to use, or is it simply a themed feature? The first drop off the slide looks… pretty extreme!
Elsewhere, some of the character models on the mountains surrounding the rollercoaster have had their protective wrapping removed, giving us our first clearer look at some of the theming elements.
Over at the Chessington Safari Hotel, we’ve also had our first look at the Paw Patrol-themed corridor, with the hotel rooms located along either side. The corridor already looks fantastic, and we’re expecting the rooms themselves to look just as impressive once fully revealed.
There’s still no official opening date for the new area just yet, but with this much progress happening, we have a feeling an announcement could be coming very soon.
