Minecraft World Hotel and Escape the Nether Rollercoaster Revealed for Chessington
Chessington World of Adventures has revealed another major addition to its upcoming Minecraft World, with the world’s first Minecraft-themed hotel set to open alongside the new land in 2027.
Minecraft World Hotel
The Minecraft World Hotel will feature almost 70 themed rooms, including 20 premium rooms and 49 standard rooms, spread across four floors. Each area of the hotel will be inspired by Minecraft’s familiar biomes, mobs, characters, colours and blocky environments.
From the moment guests enter, the hotel will be designed to feel like stepping directly into the game. The reception area will feature blocky trees and animals inspired by the Overworld, while the lifts will take inspiration from Nether Portals and the corridors will resemble Minecraft mine tunnels.
Bedrooms will continue the theme with Minecraft blocks, items, mobs and textures incorporated throughout the rooms.
The hotel will also feature an underwater-themed restaurant inspired by Minecraft’s ocean biomes, alongside a potions bar themed around the Woodland Mansion.
Escape the Nether Rollercoaster Revealed
Alongside the hotel announcement, Chessington has also confirmed the name of the major new rollercoaster coming to Minecraft World.
Escape the Nether will become the world’s first Minecraft rollercoaster when it opens in 2027.
The ride will combine indoor and outdoor sections, beginning with a high-speed journey through dark mine environments before riders burst through a Nether Portal and into the outdoor Overworld section of the attraction.
New construction footage released alongside the announcement also shows that track installation is now underway on the coaster as Minecraft World continues to take shape.
£50 Million Minecraft World
Minecraft World was first announced in March 2026 and represents a major partnership between Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios.
The new land will feature rides, themed dining, retail and immersive experiences based around the best-selling Minecraft game.
The entire development, including Minecraft World and its associated experiences, represents an investment of around £50 million and is one of Chessington World of Adventures' biggest developments in recent years.
Minecraft World and Minecraft World Hotel are scheduled to open at Chessington World of Adventures in 2027.
