New Theming Added to Congo River Rapids for 2026

Congo River Rapids has reopened at Alton Towers for the 2026 season, featuring several new additions throughout the queue line.

New theming has been installed around the attraction, including themed signposts near the entrance and a makeover of the former queue-line shop, which has been transformed into a camp store. New cave-style drawings have also been added near the entrance to the ride tunnel, where Congo River Rapids interacts with the Runaway Mine Train.

There do not appear to be any changes to the ride experience itself, but it is great to see Alton Towers investing in new theming for one of its older attractions.
