There has been a huge track delivery at Chessington for the new Minecraft rollercoaster, revealing the colour scheme for the outdoor sections of the ride.
The indoor section of the rollercoaster will feature black track and black supports, while the outdoor section will use red track with green supports. It is going to look amazing!
The newly delivered outdoor track sections look incredibly twisted and curvy. We can also see brackets fitted to parts of the track, which could potentially be used for netting or another form of safety fencing.
It is not just the outdoor track that has caught our attention, either. Sections featuring slots for launch fins have been spotted, confirming that the rollercoaster will include a launch element.
It also looks as though the ride could feature a spike inside the building. A track section with an end stop can be seen in the grass car park, alongside several other new pieces of track.
Interestingly, the track sections stored in the grass car park have identification numbers marked on their ends. Some of the new red sections are labelled “TE 23”, while several black sections are marked “TE 21”. Another section labelled “TE 20” appears to be the end piece for the possible spike element. These markings could help reveal how the different sections of track will eventually connect.
Meanwhile, work is continuing across the construction site. The rollercoaster building has been extended and now appears to be close to its full width. A second lift has also been built within the newest section of the building, while numerous staircases have now been installed throughout the structure.
This is particularly exciting, as the continued progress on the building could mean that more track will begin to be installed over the next few weeks.
Looking inside the building, we can also see what could eventually become the new retail and food units.
From the Tiger Rock queue line, even more of the rollercoaster building can be seen, alongside footers and foundations that appear to be for the returning Kobra ride.
It is incredible to see just how large this building and the overall project are becoming. These are really exciting times at Chessington, with its huge new Minecraft rollercoaster from Intamin continuing to take shape.
