SeaWorld Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2022 was an incredible Halloween event and easily one of the highlights of our trip. Taking over SeaWorld Orlando after dark, the event transformed the park into a much more sinister version of itself, with scare zones, haunted houses, live entertainment and night rides all combining to create a brilliant atmosphere.
The haunted house line-up for 2022 featured Beneath the Ice, Blood Beckoning, Captain’s Revenge: Drowned in Darkness, Dead Vines: Root of all Evil and Siren of the Seas. Each maze had its own theme and identity, from frozen Arctic horror to cursed ships, dark jungle settings and siren-led scares. The houses were well themed throughout, with strong set design, atmospheric lighting and some great scares placed in all the right locations. They may not have been the biggest mazes in Orlando, but they were packed with detail and worked really well within SeaWorld’s setting.
The scare zones were also a huge part of the night. Cargo Carnage, Cut Throat Cove, Deadly Ambush, Frozen Terror: Alive in the Ice, Sea of Fear, Terrors of the Deep and Witchcraft Bayou helped make the whole park feel alive with horror. Each zone had its own style, characters and atmosphere, meaning there was always something different to walk through between the houses. The actors were great at interacting with guests, using the darker areas of the park to catch people off guard and keep the energy high throughout the evening.
One of the standout parts of the event was the entertainment. The show we watched was fantastic, mixing horror, music and performance in a way that gave the event a proper identity beyond just the mazes and scare zones. It helped break up the night and added to the overall atmosphere of Howl-O-Scream.
Another big bonus was that several of SeaWorld Orlando’s major rides remained open during the event. Being able to experience roller coasters in the dark added another layer of excitement to the evening, especially after walking through a haunted house or scare zone. The mix of scares and thrill rides worked really well and made the event feel like great value for money.
Despite the quality of the event, the park was surprisingly quiet during our visit. This made the night even better, with easy navigation, shorter waits and more time to experience everything without feeling rushed. For the ticket price, SeaWorld Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2022 was absolutely worth it.
Overall, Howl-O-Scream Orlando 2022 delivered a brilliant mix of scares, atmosphere, entertainment and night rides. With strong haunted houses, memorable scare zones and a fun but spooky atmosphere across the park, it was an event we really enjoyed and one we would happily return to in the future.
