Chessington Azteca Hotel Set to Close for Minecraft Transformation

Chessington's Azteca Hotel appears to be closing next weekend, with 31st October 2026 currently showing as the last bookable date. The hotel is set to be transformed into the world's first Minecraft-themed hotel!

We're interested to see how the rooms and the rest of the hotel will be refurbished over the coming months. As Chessington's newest hotel, much of the existing theming relies heavily on vinyl graphics rather than physical theming. Could we see all the rooms receive immersive 3D Minecraft theming, along with a complete transformation of the hotel's public areas?

The same goes for the Temple Restaurant, which has certainly seen better days. The restaurant previously featured a light and water show, which has been switched off for many months. The fish and ants that were once part of the restaurant's themed displays have also already been relocated to new homes.

With such a huge transformation ahead, we're excited to see just how much of the existing hotel will change and whether Minecraft will bring a completely new level of immersive theming to Chessington's accommodation!
