Work on the Lodge Gate refresh continues, with new entrance gates installed and the new entrance plaza starting to take shape. Two new topiaries have been installed in the new plaza area, making for a great first impression of the resort.
Project Anchor is progressing well at Chessington, foundations for the relocated rock and tug ride from Thorpe Park appear to be completed, concreate has now been poured into the foundations, last time we saw the area the metal rebar was still being prepared.
Chessington's next rollercoaster is getting closer by the day, work on Project Amazon is progressing well! The next phase of the project appears to have begun, with drilling and pilling for supports started.
Plans submitted by Chessington for Project Anchor have been approved today by the local planning council. Work can now commence on pouring foundations and preparing the area. We expect that these new rides will be ready for the Summer 2022 season!
Land of The Dragons at Chessington World of Aventures has been given a refresh during the closed season. The entrance portal, photo kiosk and fences around the ride area have been repainted and given a new lease of life.
A huge metal structure is currently being installed over the final break run of Dragons Fury. When it begins to rain Dragons Fury is known to have issues with wetness. It's hoped that when this structure is completed that the ride's availability during wetter days will be improved.
Construction work on Project Amazon at Chessington appears to be progressing well. Since our last visit to the park, a time-lapse camera has been set up on the site office shipping container in the corner of the site and further site preparation has happened.
Early work on Project Anchor at Chessington appears to have begun, this expansion of Pirates Cove will see two new flat rides installed as the resort continues to expand its ride lineup.
Now the park has been given approval on plans to refresh the Lodge Gate, heavy construction can now begin! Work on the retheme has already begun with the canopy covering the turnstiles being removed along with most of the entrance turnstiles!
Chessington has been given the green light to officially start work on the Lodge Gate retheme! Over the next few weeks works on the entrance gate will ramp up and we should hopefully see this new entrance ready and open for the busy summer season.
Chessington World of Adventures has installed a small selection of animal topiaries around the park. Sprinkling a bit of extra magic, you can spot these beautiful creatures around the park, our favourite is the Zebra located by Adventure Point.
