Wild Asia has been restored to its former glory! Originally opening in 2010 the area has been exposed to the elements of British weather without a repaint. The park has touched up most of the area with Temple of Mayhem receiving the biggest makeover and paint job.
Construction work on Project Amazon is in full swing with the site completely cleared and early work on foundations beginning. We can already see loads of small trenches where foundations could be put, yellow markers around the site also seem to show a brief layout of the rollercoaster.
Jungle Bus at Chessington looks to be closed for the 2022 season, the ride has been fully dismantled with a fence installed around the ride. The attraction has also been removed from all of the park maps and queue time boards.
Pirates Cove has been fenced off ready for the installation of two new flat rides pending planning permission. Sea Storm remains closed for now whilst the park appears to be waiting for a new part for the ride which has remained closed since early last year.
Forbidden Kingdom has received a major repaint during the 2021/2022 closed season. The whole area has been repainted along with the canopy drapes replaced for the first time in a long time! It's great to see the park taking care of older areas.
It's the first day of the season and it's the first time we've been able to see what the park have been up to during the closed season.
Chessington has released Retro Merchandise celebrating its rich history. T-Shirts, Jumpers and a tote bag featuring the park's old logo and slogan can be found online and in the Adventure Point Gift Shop.
Chessington has updated its website with news on this year's events, New for 2022, Mardi Grrra will be making its way to the streets of Chessington. Also making a return for 2022 is Wilderfest and Howl’o’ween, of course Winter's Tail later in the year.
Chessington is looking to continue to expand its lineup of rides and attractions and has applied for planning permission to install 2 new rides in the Pirates Cove area.
Work on Project Amazon has officially begun! Groundworks have begun and we can see sections of grass dug up with yellow markers added to sections that we expect will be dug up in the next few weeks.
Good news for Project Amazon at Chessington World of Adventures! After waiting months for the application to be reviewed, the plans have finally been given the green light and the park can go ahead with the construction of the new area.
