After last year’s events around the world, Merlin Entertainments is taking guest security very serious. Large concrete blocks were put outside the entrance to Legoland Windsor last year along with bag searches implemented at all Merlin Theme Parks in the UK.
Alton Towers recently announced a new Season Pass for the 2018 Season, For the price of a standard admission ticket (£55) you can visit for the rest of the 2018 season. Stated in the press release:

For the past two years the Nemesis station has been repainted and given some extra tlc and it would appear that this year the maintenance and repainting of the station continues.
The closed season has begun and work on the monorail at Alton Towers has begun. Last year we reported that work was going on to install a new evacuation platform but it would seem it was later scrapped off and postponed until this years closed season.
Some unexpected news coming out from Alton Towers today. The Katanga Canyon to Mutiny Bay pathway has now reopened to the public, more than likely to cope with the extra footfall that October half term and subsequentially fireworks bring.
With one more scare free weekend to go we thought we would pop down and visit Alton Towers to see what is happening around the resort and what has been done to prepare for the Scarefest season.
With two weeks to go, everything is coming together to get everything ready for Scarefest. With more work than every before with 4 mazes to prepare as well as a scare zone, Freak Show.
Lots of work has happened on site since our last visit to the park.
With almost one month to go before the Scarefest festivities we headed to Alton Towers to check out what has been going on. When we got there we were surprised to see a lot of progress taking place, specifically around the shipping containers of Sub species.
What a difference a week makes! Last update there was only one shipping contained and a tunnel, now... it looks much more complete!
