Over the past two days Merlin Attractions Operations Ltd have been in court over the smiler incident back in 2015 where two cars crashed into each other leaving guests injured.

Scarefest at Alton Towers is just around the corner and preparations are in full swing at the park!

Work has begun on clearing the site at the back of the Alton Towers Hotel for the brand new extension coming in 2017. The conservatory sections of the Spa has been removed and bordered up and groundworks have begun of where the new hotel foundations will be built.

This morning Alton Towers announced on their Facebook page that it will be opening the worlds first CBeebies Land Hotel!

Over the past year Alton Towers have taken health and satfye to a new level with new higher fences built across the whole of the park.

The Flume at Alton Towers has unplugged itself for the last time and will remain closed permanently. However in its place will be something more exciting. SW8 a “Ground-Breaking New Ride Development” will be on the old flume site.

Preparations are underway at Alton Towers as the theme park season is due to start in just under 3 weeks. With the launch of the Towers Loving Care programme and Galactica opening on 24th March 2016 is set to be a big year for the park.

Nemesis at Alton Towers Resort is receiving extensive maintenance this closed season as revealed by the “Towers Loving Care” Twitter account. Set up by the park the twitter account has promised daily updates of improvements going on around the park.

Alton Towers Resort has released a video on there YouTube channel with a teaser of there new ride for 2016. Not much is currently known on what is happening to Air however rumours are currently going around that the ride will receive virtual reality head sets.

Alton Towers today through there blogging site have announced the Towers Loving Care (TLC) scheme, A three year plan which aims to renovate overlooked areas of the park. The blog explains that the scheme will tackle several areas of the park:
