Thorpe Park Resort has announced that for the first time in its 38-year history, it will open its gates at midnight on Tuesday 24th April 2018 for 1,000 lucky fans to experience its new attraction The Walking Dead: The Ride for free.
The Walking Dead The Ride had its vip press launch this evening. 2018 is the year of the walking dead at Thorpe Park Resort and X has been transformed into a safe zone for those who seek refuge from the zombies.
Today is the first day of the season at Thorpe Park which means it's our first chance to take a look at the retheme of X being turned into The Walking Dead The Ride.
Thorpe Park was due to be holding its Annual Pass day on Sunday 18th March however due to bad weather the event has been cancelled. A post on the parks social media channels says:

Pay for a day come for the year… Thorpe Park has followed suit with Alton Towers and will be offering guests the opportunity of buying a Thorpe Park only Annual Pass. At the price of a normal park entry ticket £49 guests can come back for the year.
Christmas is coming to town and closed season work is progressing well across Thorpe Park. Since our last drive down scaffolding has been put up around some sections of Colossus and work on the bridge into the park seems to be progressing.
In a bold new move Thorpe Park has become the first park to release their new IMAscore music on a CD for guests to listen to outside of the park. For the past two years the park has teamed up with company IMAscore to recompose and create new tracks around the park.
Thorpe Park has submitted plans for a retheme of the popular attraction X. The plans show the theming at the entrance of the ride being removed and a new watchtower and a pre-show to replace it.
The closed season has officially begun with enthusiasts across left wondering whats new for 2018 at Thorpe Park.
