After weeks of being shut Samurai at Thorpe Park has finally reopened to join Slammer for the last few days of the season. At one point in the season it was starting to look like none of these two attractions were going to be reopening for the 2012 season.
Thorpe Park Frightnights are back again this year with a bang!
This afternoon The Swarm at Thorpe Park and lost a bolt whilst the ride was open to the public. Its believed that due to the heat wave that we are currently going thorough that the steel is expanding causing bolts to have a lot of tension in them.
After 2 months of the park being open Thorpe Park look to finally have got the all clear on the swarm fire effect. A recent video of the fire effect working as made its way onto YouTube via a park mangers YouTube account.
Over the last few years the “miss hippos fungle safari” ride has been standing but not operating. After years of the site being used for only the asylum queue line the ride location has finally started to be worked on.
At the start of 2012 Thorpe Park announced that Saw Alive would only open on selected date during the 2012 season however no one would of guessed that just two months into the main season that they would shut the ride until Fright Nights.
Rush at Thorpe Park has reopened following it major re-fit during the closed season which happens every 3-4 years where the ride is completely taken apart and given lots of tender loving care.
Thorpe Park is now open to the public and we can now see some of the updates the park has done over the closed season. One of the major changes been done to stealth is the removal of the single rider queue line.

Today we see the release of the brand new Thorpe park 2012 map including the brand new ride THE SWARM new for 2012. However this is not the only change to the Thorpe Park map, as you may know last year we lost the Canada creek railway lasting 22 years!
Thorpe Park has taken the decision to shut the Canada creek railway on Sunday 6th November 2011. The park has said they haven't taken this decision lightly but due to the falling numbers off people going on the ride it has had to close.
