With Rumba Rapids now closed forever, attention is already turning to Fright Nights and where Thorpe Park could introduce a new maze next. One of the largest available spaces for a potential attraction could be the former Rumba Rapids ride area and queue line.

There has been huge progress on Launch Pad at Thorpe Park since our last look at the project. Tarmac flooring has now been poured and installed across the site, with rocks and planting beginning to be added around the area.
Work on the Hyperia splashdown effect looks to have started again, with all of the covers over the feature now removed. It also sounds like efforts to fix it once and for all may be underway, in the hope that it can finally be made reliable without impacting the ride experience.
The logo for Fright Nights 2026 has been revealed on posters across Thorpe Park, marking a milestone 25 years of fearfor the park’s annual Halloween event. It’s shaping up to be a huge year for fans, and excitement is already building.

The new Launch Pad relaxation area at Thorpe Park is progressing rapidly, with major developments now visible across the site. It’s impressive just how much has changed in the space of a single week.
To celebrate 20 years of Stealth at Thorpe Park, special vinyls have been added to the front of the trains, and banners are now on display in the ride’s courtyard.
Thorpe Park has launched an exciting new range of merchandise for 2026! Fans can grab new pin badges, shirts, and nostalgic throwbacks to classic rides, including Logger’s Leap and the original Flying Fish logo.
During this closed season, SAW – The Ride at Thorpe Park has had its signage refreshed. The iconic “JBS Works”lettering on the ride building has been repainted, and all signage at the entrance to the queue line, shop, and plaza has been updated for a clean, polished look.
The removal of Rumba Rapids at Thorpe Park has now been confirmed, with public access to the attraction fully blocked off. A large blue wall has been installed around the ride, leaving only limited views through a construction gate and from the Nemesis Inferno queue line.
During the closed season, Detonator has received a full repaint, giving the iconic drop tower a fresh new look for the upcoming season. The ride now stands out with a bold, bright red finish, making it more eye-catching than ever on the Thorpe Park skyline.
Zodiac has been a hot topic among guests, especially after spending most of the 2025 season closed. Many have questioned whether the ride would return at all—but there are now strong signs that its comeback could be just around the corner.
