A lot can change within a week and that has been proven by the WC16 building site this week. On Monday news broke that construction had gone vertical and within the past 5 days it looks as if the shell of the building has almost been completed.

Since the accident on the Smiler rollercoaster last month guest figures at Alton Towers and other Merlin theme parks have been seriously affected.

Project WC16 at Thorpe Park Resort is progressing well with the pit and floor space of the building now outlined with metal rebar ready for concrete to be poured in the next few days (we suspect).

Chessington World Of Adventures this week has officially open the brand new Captains Fish and Chip shop next to the Black Buccaneer. The new 72 seat sit down restaurant located in Pirates Cove is a refresh of the old Fish and Chips shop with an added indoor seating area.

Head on down to Thorpe Park Resort for a summer of great music and gigs! Guests can enjoy free music from new and emerging artists like Only The Young. On Friday and Saturday nights the park and a selection of rides and attractions will remain open until 10pm for headline performances.

Foundations for WC16 at Thorpe Park are progressing nicely with a large pit in the middle of the site appearing over the past few weeks. Since our last update a few weeks ago the edges of the pit have been outlined with wood and have started to be bricked up.

Saw The Ride at Thorpe Park has reopened today following the Smiler crash at Alton Towers in June. The ride was believed to be shut as a precaution so the same couldn't happen on Saw.
Work is picking up pace at Thorpe Park Resort for WC16 with foundation support rods being drilled into the ground. Since our last visit it would seem the drilling of supports has continued along with the forming of what we believe will become the ride station.
